PROGRAM MANAGER
Position No. 31-16
Atlantis Systems International has a reputation for leadership in developing simulation based training devices, military training systems, and e-learning. Successful candidates will have a Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, a background in electronics and/or software design, and at least three years experience in a project management/leadership position. This experience will have been gained through work on defence/aerospace related projects, ideally involving delivery of aircraft or software systems. The following qualifications would be assets:
- Educational and Professional qualifications in one or more disciplines relevant to the management of design and production of complex, software-dependent systems, (PMI Certification or equivalent experience also desirable),
- Development management experience in a sector closely related to Atlantis interests,
- Ability to undertake successful Program and Proposal management including the ability to deliver complex programs on time and in budget,
- The ability to work with customers and develop relationships based on trust and openness, within the constraints of commercial sensitivity,
- The ability to work effectively at a peer level with other company disciplines (Engineering, Production, etc.) for problem solving, optimizing operations, defining tactics, and contributing to the company's overall strategy,
- An enthusiasm to participate in the management of a company that is committed to growth, and that expects and demands excellence and dedication to achieve it,
- The desire to continually seek out and develop opportunities for increased revenues from new and existing products and projects,
- An ability to challenge the status quo and argue points logically and strongly, while giving wholehearted support to consensus once developed,
- A willingness to "roll the sleeves up" and get involved, in addition to the management responsibilities outlined above, at the working level on assigned Programs.
Candidates will be expected to plan, estimate, schedule, and control projects to meet the specified contractual, technical, cost, and schedule requirements. Specific responsibilities will include:
- Analysis of customer's contractual requirements/technical specifications and development of responsive proposals,
- Development and management of Contractual and Contract Compliance documentation,
- Generation and management of detailed Element/Work Breakdown Structures,
- Preparation of Statements of Work and Technical Specifications for internal resources, subcontractors, and vendors,
- Preparation of project cost estimates and control of project expenditures,
- Preparation and maintenance of project schedules,
- Management of project correspondence and contractual documentation,
- Identification, assessment, and management of contractual, technical, schedule and cost risks, and development of effective risk mitigation plans,
- Preparation and presentation of project status reports.
Successful candidates will require excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills and will exhibit outstanding interpersonal and communication skills that encourage, through personal involvement, individual and team interest and motivation. Travel will be required with this position.
Due to the potential for involvement with military projects involving controlled data and technology, successful candidates will be expected to pass a security clearance evaluation.
